Student events | Thanksgiving week
Students are invited to a wide variety of events, programs and engagement opportunities during the week of Thanksgiving. An outline of events is below, but students may sign in to Involved for more details, locations and times for each event.
Friday, November 20
Postcards Home - Free postcards with postage on them for students to complete and send home or to friends. Extra postage will be available for international postage.
Thursday, November 26
Thanksgiving bags will be delivered to each residential on-campus student. RISD Dining will also deliver vegan apple crumb tarts, pumpkin chocolate chip blondies and apple cider to the residence halls.
Thanksgiving meal—RISD Dining will be open 10 am–2 pm, The Met, for students to pick up brunch as well as a seasonal, New England Thanksgiving dinner to go, including turkey, potatoes, roasted autumn root vegetables, shaved brussel sprouts and so much more!
Friday, November 27
Friendsgiving—Students are invited to a fair of various fun activities, giveaways and free food during the afternoon.
Opt Outside Day—Residents will be emailed a guide to outdoor activities in Providence and Rhode Island that are easily accessible by students. Prizes will be handed out for students who engage with these opportunities.
Saturday, November 28
Fall Fest—The Quad will host an interactive festival in the afternoon for all students on campus, with giveaways, activities and free food.
Small Business Saturday—RISD students will receive exclusive coupons and discounts at a handful of local small businesses, including Bolt Coffee, Bucktown and Frog + Toad!
Sunday, November 29
Hot Cho-Community—Join us for free hot chocolate and seasonal recipes that are perfect for cooking on campus.
Health & Wellness
A variety of health and wellness classes will be available each day of Thanksgiving week, including mindfulness, HIIT, yoga and boxing. Students must sign into Involved to see more details.
