SEI faculty workshop | Multilingual Learners
This workshop explores the importance of linguistic diversity in teaching and learning. We will talk about developing more inclusive approaches to language in order to: communicate more effectively, support the language acquisition process that happens in class, and create space for the perspectives of multilingual learners. Participants learn about the range of experiences of multilingual learners at RISD, and gain practical strategies and resources for responding to individual students who would like to improve their language skills. We will share our experiences and build collective expertise to advance the possibilities of a multilingual campus.
