RISD Zero Waste | REDU NYC Tour
REDU NYC tackles construction, which is among the largest contributors to landfills, by diverting construction waste before it enters the waste-stream. REDU is a sustainable contractor and design studio located in Red Hook, Brooklyn that rescues dry-waste construction materials and furniture. Take in views of the New York Harbor and the Statue of Liberty while founder Amber Lasciak discusses how REDU NYC reclaims what others believe no longer has value and up-cycles them into pieces of utility and beauty. Learn about the challenges of starting a sustainable business and bring your curiosity and questions. The warehouse tour is elevator accessible, while the Q and A meeting space is accessed by stairs only.
