RISD Photo Gary Metz Lecture Series - Anna Shteynshleyger
Anna Shteynshleyger was born in Moscow in 1977 and has lived in the United States since 1992. She received her BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore, and her MFA from Yale University School of Art (2001). She has had solo presentations at The Renaissance Society, the University of Chicago, Dvir Gallery, Tel Aviv, Moti Hasson Gallery, New York, and MCA Chicago. In 2017 she presented work at The Waiting Room of 57W57Arts in New York. She has shown widely in group contexts at institutions including the Nelson Atkins Museum of Art, Kansas City, International Center of Photography, the Israel Museum, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, The Jewish Museum and Murray Guy Gallery, New York. She has received a Guggenheim Fellowship and a Louis Comfort Tiffany Foundation award. She is the Assistant Professor of Photography at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn since 2013.
