Faculty workshop | Open Pedagogy and Educational Resources

Please join research librarian Emily Coxe, who will be discussing  how open pedagogy and open educational resources (OER) enable more equitable and future-oriented models for teaching, learning and publishing. Participants will learn about opportunities (and challenges!) introduced by recent movement toward free, openly licensed teaching materials—from reading lists to entire textbooks—and how these can be adopted, remixed or authored completely afresh to suit curricular needs. We will discuss bringing students into the publishing process and how to license and share work openly while protecting your copyright, and we'll workshop tools for finding and evaluating existing open resources. Attendees are welcome to participate or simply listen.

Instructor Bio:

Emily Coxe is a research and instruction librarian at RISD’s Fleet Library and a member of the Rhode Island Open Textbook Initiative steering committee.
