With a portfolio of work grounded in community advancement and socially responsible art making, internationally acclaimed actor, producer and humanitarian Danny Glover embodies the impact creative endeavor can have in advancing democracy and equity. His life-long commitment to humanitarian projects including advocacy for economic justice, universal access to health care, and education have had profound impacts. Mr. Glover will speak on “Creativity and Democracy: Social Change Through the Arts.”

Tickets will be available to the RISD Community (RISD ID required) on Tuesday, January 20 in Carr House room 212.
Tickets must be presented at the door for entry.
The full event will be simulcast to RISD's Chace Center Metcalf Auditorium. Seating for the simulcast will be first come, first served.
The Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Series is produced by the Rhode Island School of Design to acknowledge the life and vast contributions of Dr. King toward creating a more just and democratic society. Each January the RISD community hosts the MLK Series including programs, events, and workshops that provide the RISD and local community with impactful moments of service, reflection, self development, inspiration, and celebration.
