Liberal Arts lecture | Ian Madrigal

The Liberal Arts division and Nature-Culture-Sustainability graduate program invite the RISD community to a talk by creative activist and political strategist Ian Madrigal on "Cause"-Play: Creative Activism to Dismantle Corporate Power and White Supremacy. Madrigal is behind the viral Monopoly Man appearances in Congress and the shaming of Trump DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen out of a Mexican restaurant. They are also an attorney, organizer and writer focused on racial and economic justice, trans/queer rights and radical democratic reform. Madrigal is currently working with a Black and Indigenous femme-led team to build a national movement for truth, reconciliation and reparations in the US.
