Visiting artist | Edouard Duval-Carrié

Please join us for an evening with painter and sculptor Edouard Duval-Carrié. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, he emigrated to Puerto Rico and later studied at the Université de Montréal and McGill University in Canada before graduating with a Bachelor of Arts from Loyola College, Montréal in 1978. He attended the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1988–89 and lived in France for many years before moving to Miami, FL. His work explores the social and historical aspects of Haitian culture, intergrating imagery of Voodoo gods, classical mythology and Haiti’s national heroes.

This talk is made possible with the gracious assistance of the Liberal Arts Humanities Fund, the Office for Social Equity and Inclusion and the Division of Fine Arts.
