Visiting Designers: Emily Wilson and Jane Androski of Design Agency

Design Agency is a collaboration between Emily Sara Wilson & Jane Androski, both graduates of the MFA program in Graphic Design at the Rhode Island School of Design. Their Pawtucket, RI studio is committed to building sustainable relationships with clients, neighbors and community, and to bringing the same level of accountability to their social practice as to their aesthetic one. Through event-facilitation, exhibits, publications and websites, they use design to spark conversation and collaboration, and to document and share stories for a range of educational and non-profit clients.

They are also committed to developing new approaches to design pedagogy—offering workshops and courses that focus on design as a social and cultural practice; that encourage authorship and individual voice; and that focus on the essential, and often overlooked, role of discourse in the design process. They build dialogue around issues that matter. They are an agency that inspires agency in others.
