He has directed his own architecture firm (Rutz Architekten, Zurich) for seven years, and was a visiting lecturer at the F+F Schule für Kunst und Mediendesign, Zürich (F+F School of Art and Media Design, Zurich) as well as at Southeast University of China in Nanjing.
